Book Club

For our September selection, we will be discussing The Library Book by Susan Orlean.

Tuesday September 23rd | 2 PM | Montecito Library

1469 E. Valley Road | 805-969-5063

“The Library Book” by Susan Orlean uses the unsolved 1986 Los Angeles Public Library fire as a lens to explore the history, meaning, and evolving role of libraries in society, weaving true crime with a personal love letter to the institution. The book investigates who set the fire that destroyed hundreds of thousands of books and details how libraries serve crucial roles in communities, highlighting their importance and uncertain future in the digital age.

Copies are available for check out at our branches, along with digital editions on Libby.  If you finish your copy quickly, please return it to me so someone else might get the chance to read.

Hope to see you soon!

Happy Reading~
